Family

It is September 13,2010 and another year has gone by. There have been so many changes to our ever growing family but the one constant seems to be the love and support that permeates our family. The kids are all doing amazing things in their lives. Each succeeding in the different areas that they love.

Sara brought to our family a priceless treasure when she married Tyler. We now have a wonderful son, brother and friend. Thank you for being part of our family and part of our hearts.

Kim and Brian made a life long dream come true--I am now a "gram"ma--I didn't know that my heart could feel like exploding and yet still remain beating everytime I think about Porter, see him , hold him, watch him smile. Wow the wonders of grandchildren.

Wow so many cheers go out to all the kids--some highlights are--Kolbie and Katrina are both seniors at the top of their class , in academics as well as extra curricular activities-Kolbie is the lead in the school play this year I have nicked named her Kolbie Annie because she will be playing Annie in the musical Annie. hee hee. She was elected president of Madrigals and is an officer in the Drama department, scored 31 on her ACT and has a 3.96 something. Is there anything she can't do?

Katrina well Katrina our mouths just all drop when we think of how brilliant Katrina is, she got a 35 on the ACT has a 4.0 and is heading to New York to participate in the All girls national math contest. Wow!

Then there Savannah, she is a junior this year. She made Mads as a junior and got elected secretary to the Concert Choir. She got the part of a lead orphan in the musical this year-Oh my goodness! And is still hip hopping in dance. She has a 3.98 GPA and is in the academy of finance program.

Adriana is starting tenth grade with a 4.0. She is loved by everybody and has more friends than i knew possible. She is in company dance this year and is taking four different classes. She is playing Molly in the school play this year. Wow is this going to be a fun year or what. She eats more that any one i know and is always hungry.

Caitlin is continuing to excel in school with her 4.0 starting eighth grade. She sets high goals and accomplishes them everyday. She is currently trying to finish re reading the Harry Potter series before the seventh movie comes out. She is also taking dance classes and is playing the flute in band.

Jonathon finished his sixth grade year by taking or tying for second at the State Chess Championships every year since Kindergarten. No one else in the state has been that successful for that long and that consistently . He also set the record at oakwood for taking first six tournaments in a row. since fourth grade. He played the cello in sixth grade-a one year thing and continues to make us all happy with his awesome smile.

Rebecca boo is in fourth grade this year and is awesome at soccer, and dance, and reading and science, and at making up her own languages, and at doing her own hair and at talking at bedtime. There is so much more to add. But my bed is calling me. Thank you my children for who you are-you make me a better person. Michael and I have never been happier we feel so blessed to be a part of each of your lives. You make us HAPPY

Wicked Fun

For Christmas Michael got us all tickets to go see Wicked! It was a very fun family outing.
We ate out at a Rodizio Grill, a really nice Brazillian Restaurant. There was so much good food! I think we were all stuffed by the end.

And of course, Wicked was amazing. Some of us were seeing it for the first time, while others had seen it once (or twice!) before. It doesn't seem to matter how many times you see it, it is still such a wonderful play.

I don't have very many good pictures of the evening, so hopefully someone else will post some! :)
Thanks again for a fun night!

Easter!

This is on Easter Sunday! This picture was taken right before Kim's new camera fell and broke! Easter was a little different for the family this year because half the family is used to getting their easter baskets hidden and half the family is not used to it. It was an adventure for all to look for their baskets in the new house.

Home Sweet Home

Kim and I were just reminiscing about this time last year, when in between conference sessions we all piled into the car to see the new house that would become our family's home. Mom and Michael didn't want to show any of us the house until they had finished the basement and other such projects. So after the first session of conference, we followed them to Sandy to get our first tour of the new house.

First they took us to a "joke" house. It was pretty small and looked fairly run down..so we all got out of the car trying to stay positive, even though we were thinking "I thought the new house was supposed to be bigger than the old ones!" Michael even took a picture of all of us on the front lawn. And then they said just kidding and we all piled in the car again.

We went up a couple more streets and finally arrived at the real house. Walking through the house for the first time was like Christmas. We did it all together, and they had picked out everyone's rooms already. It was so fun to see everyone's reactions. For me, it was weird how much the house felt like home, even though I wouldn't even be living there. It just seemed like the perfect house for our ever growing family.

Now, a year later, the house is very broken in, and we all still love it! It has definitely become our home.

Thai Food and Leatherby's

Sherri's Birthday Celebration!

Michael got an assortment of Thai food and Pizza for dinner.

Kim had to try a little of everything

Mom's favorite dessert? Leatherby's Ice Cream and Caramel. And yes, we put the birthday candles in the ice cream. And we won't tell you how many... :)

Happy Birthday Mom!
